| INSPIRE VOLUNTEERS AT WORK! | |||

We were looking for a company that was approachable, knowledgeable and dedicated to providing a first-class service. Inspire Kenya met all of these criteria. Mathew, the owner of the company, was reassuringly supportive before the trip and was always on hand to answer our questions. On our arrival, we were met by Thomas, the Nairobi and Mombasa representative, who subsequently gave us all the information we needed, organised our transport and even our leisure activities. Our host family were welcoming and attentive, providing an insight into Kenyan culture that enhanced our experience. The placement itself was very rewarding. As well as helping with the day to day running of the orphanage, we also taught each afternoon at a nearby school and felt that we were making a real contribution. We unreservedly recommend Inspire Kenya. They bring a personal touch to the whole experience and clearly care about the volunteers that they represent."

Both my husband and I have had an amazing
time with Inspire Kenya. Having been let down by another company, Inspire
quickly came to the rescue and assisted us, and meet most of our needs.
I spent several months looking for a volunteer program
in East Africa. Unfortunately, many either were out
of my price range or did not provide the experience I
was hoping to achieve. I wanted to participate in a volunteer program
that would allow me to better understand the needs
of the region and to be able to make a difference.
Inspire-Kenya provides that type of experience and
makes it available to those who want to lend a hand, but may not have
endless funds to do so. The organization is small
and operates with local staffing that provides a
unique opportunity. It is not your usually large
volunteer organization that may Jeannie. USA. April 07. Conservation. "The experience at school is priceless"
I would like to say that the experience has been in all senses wonderful. The family I stayed with, Sophie and Daniel and family, are great and we have become friends. I have been treated in a great manner all the time. The experience at school is priceless. The kids are so welcoming, so intelligent, so eager to learn, that it has been so motivating for me to teach them. The Inspire Kenya staff were also great. Both Tom and Steve took great care of me whenever needed, were always friendly, with a smile, and solved any problem had very diligently. Hugo. Inspire Teacher July 2007. Nairobi school.

"When it came to spending leisure time – Inspire staff knew exactly where to take you,"
I was so lucky to stay with a wonderful
host family, they made me so welcome and at home, helping me wherever
possible if i needed it. I will definitely keep in contact with them.
The guys Tom and Fred from Inspire were totally great keeping up to date
with me and checking that I was ok. They were so helpful would go out of
their way to make the experience as worthwhile as possible Tom organised the
booking of my Masai Mara safari, travel and accommodation afterwards. The
whole thing went without a hitch other than my 10 hour bus journey back to
Mombassa, but that's the fun of traveling around Kenya it wouldn't be the
same if we arrived on time without having a bumpy journey! "The guys Tom and Fred from Inspire were totally great keeping up to date with me and checking that I was ok"

Thank you so much for all your help while Nicole, Georgie & I were in Kenya. It is inspiring to meet people who are passionate about what they are doing. I really enjoyed the whole experience, and though I felt quite happy to be coming home when I did, now that I have been back for a couple of weeks (and back to 11 hour days in an office), I wish Kenya were closer, so that I could just flit over for a visit. After starting to establish a relationship with the children, it's hard to be so far away and feel like we have abandoned them. I wonder how they feel about it.... Anyway, it was great to meet you all and congratulations on the work you are doing. Jill, Australia. Children's home Sept 07. Everything has been perfect. I had a lot of expectations and, because of that, I suspected that it wouldn't be that good. But I was wrong, despite all the ideas that I had, the experience has defied the imagination. Since I arrived and Lucy, John, Steve (I only saw him that time) and Halima came to pick me up to the airport until my plane took off, I have enjoyed a lot. I was working at Kenya Times during one month. It was very instructive because I am journalist, and I could take part of local journalism and learn a lot of things about the country and politics in the pre elections period. KT staff were, also, very welcoming people. My only handicap was the English, because it forced me to depend on someone else and impeded me to write properly. But they helped me and I could publish several reports. But I repeat that I am more than happy with my experience and I would recommend it to everyone. Kenya is a country full of wonderful things and I have spent there the best time of my life. Paloma. Children's Home & Journalism Jan 08 |
